How SW Engineers Read your Quality Process - Or: How to write better SW Quality Processes

Rolling out development processes or quality processes is a challenging exercise. Many things can go wrong. Consequently, Software Engineers might decide to silently ignore the process or to object to it. On the other hand and even worse, misunderstandings and attempts to fulfill the process in a minimum way, might lead to inefficient but process-compliant workflows. Be aware of "You get what you measure!".

ams AG has started rolling out SW processes some years ago. Now it is a good point in time to look back and see what went wrong and how it can be done better.

Nutzen für den Teilnehmer:
SW quality personal will get hints on do's and don’ts when defining and rolling out quality processes.

Behandelte Problemstellungen:
Quality work is very often understood as additional effort and overhead in development projects. Writing a quality process in a wrong way, or making mistakes during roll-out will support this misinterpretation.
